NSDRC Family Survey

NSDRC Teen/Pre-Teen Social Program Family Survey (September 2020)

With school now back we are planning to re-open our Saturday Teen/Pre-Teen Programs. Due to restricted space, the Saturday program will look somewhat different than before March, but we hope that the sessions will still provide fun, goal-based activities for the youth to engage in with a small group of peers.

The ratio for Teen/Pre-Teen Program is 4 to 1. Each group of four youth and one staff member will be a cohort and they will have 4.5 hours of group time each Saturday. Each cohort will have staggered start and end times, meeting either outside of our main office or at another central location. Youth will be expected to sanitize their hands at the start of each session and the employee overseeing the cohort will have hand sanitizer with them for frequent sanitization. Groups will be accessing the community and possibly community centres as available.

It is our intention to match cohort groups with the age of the youth, e.g. pre-teen’s (ages 9-12) and teens (ages 13-18) in groups together. This will depend on how many youth return, their times available and how many employees we have ready to work.

We are following all Provincial and WorkSafe BC guidelines regarding support, and as such, will need to adjust our service model to meet any COVID 19 changes that may occur moving forward.

Please take a moment to complete this short survey.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Thank you.

The NSDRC was started by a group of families in 1976. In the years since, we have worked for a "Community for All" by developing and providing community housing, infant development programs, youth groups, community-based services, and information and advocacy.

We are grateful for the opportunity to work, live and play on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the territories of Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations.
