healthy relationships curriculum


The Healthy Relationships Curriculum (HRC) – a Shift Education Curriculum – follows the BC Ministry of Education’s Physical and Health Education learning outcomes. This program has been developed for children and youth ages 10+.

The HRC is a series of ten unique PowerPoint presentations focused on teaching:

  • SAFETY  – having a safe adult to seek guidance from; being free from physical, emotional, offline or online abuse; and having access to age-appropriate content
  • SCIENCE – understanding the human body, sex in biological terms, and where to access reliable, well-researched, and reputable information
  • SELF – critical thinking skills, healthy decision making, healthy relationship knowledge, skill building, and understanding what consent looks like and feels like

  • when: 3:00 – 4:00 PM • Sunday: January 24 and 31; February 7, 14, 21, and 28; March 7, 14, and 21
