We will work with your to create a service package that best meets your needs. However, there are some booking details that will apply regardless of your service package.
Booking location:
You may visit the van at our office in North Vancouver, or you may have the van come to you. We will visit most locations in the Lower Mainland.
Booking length:
All sessions are booked for a minimum of one (1) hour, and a maximum of five (5) hours.
Orientation fee:
There is a one-time room and equipment orientation session for all first-time users of $20. This is a general overview for caregivers who are interested in learning more about how it can be used with their loved-one or client. This orientation is for the parent/caregiver only and childcare is not provided.
Fuel surcharge:
If the van is coming to you, we will include a fuel surcharge fee of $0.50 per kilometre. For example:
- Lower Lonsdale – $4.50
- Edgemont Village – $5.20
- Grouse Mountain – $11
- Parkgate – $8.20
- West Vancouver Recreation Centre – $11
- Cypress Bowl/Mulgrave – $12
- Horseshoe Bay – $20
There is no fuel surcharge fee for those using the van at our office (3158 Mountain Highway in North Vancouver).
General rental rates:
Private bookings (for families and individuals)
- $20 per hour
- minimum booking one (1) hour
- multi-pack punch card: $80 for 5 one-hour visits (one “free” visit)
- orientation fee of $20 applies to first booking
Rates do not apply to individuals who have been referred to and are receiving direct support services through the NSDRC. Subsidies are available; please discuss that with Kathleen when you call to book the van.
Not-for-profit agencies:
- $40 per hour
- minimum booking one (1) hour
- orientation fee of $20 applies to first booking
Schools, healthcare facilities, government offices and businesses:
- $100 per hour
- five (5) hours or more contact us for discounted rates
- rate includes one dedicated NSDRC employee to facilitate the use of the room
- fuel surcharge extra
