Alzheimer Society of B.C. (The)

The Alzheimer Society of B.C. exists to alleviate the personal and social consequences of Alzheimer Disease and related dementias, to promote public awareness and to search for the causes and the cures.

Autism Society of British Columbia (The) 

The Autism Society of British Columbia (ASBC) was started in 1974. A parent based and directed society providing support to individuals with autism and their families in British Columbia and Yukon. As of June, 2002 we had an estimated 1500 members.

Autism Community Training 

Autism Community Training (ACT) Society is pleased to announce that we have been successful in winning a provincial contract from the Ministry for Children and Family Development (MCFD) to provide information, training and vital support services to parents across British Columbia who have children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder.

The Canadian Abilities Foundation’s mission is to provide information, inspiration & opportunity for people with disabilities.

Canadian Health Network

Canadian Health Network is a national, non-profit, bilingual web-based health information service. CHN's goal is to help Canadians find the information they're looking for on how to stay healthy and prevent disease.

Canadian National Institute for the Blind

The Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) is a national voluntary agency providing services to individuals across Canada to whom loss of vision is a central problem in personal and social adjustments. The CNIB also acts as a consultant and resource agency to the helping professions, government departments and private industry.

Canadian Society for Social Development (The)

The Canadian Society for Social Development (CSSD) is a federally funded non profit organization with charitable status, conducting two free online programs for people with disabilities across Canada.

Cerebral Palsy Association of British Columbia 

The Cerebral Palsy Association of British Columbia (CPABC) is an independent, not-for-profit Association led by a Volunteer Board of Directors. The CPABC was founded in 1954 by a group of concerned parents who wanted the best possible opportunities for their children living with Cerebral Palsy (CP).

The Community Integration Services Society offers individual day and leisure services for people with disabilities living in Port Moody and on the North Shore.

Community Living BC

Community Living BC (CLBC) delivers support and services to people with developmental disabilities, children with special needs and their families in British Columbia. It has a board of self-advocates, family and community members, as well as staff located throughout the province. We believe that people with developmental disabilities and their families know best when it comes to their needs, goals and planning for the future.

Down Syndrome Research Foundation & Resource Centre (The)

The Down Syndrome Research Foundation & Resource Centre was formed in 1995 in response to the need, expressed by parents and professionals, for detailed and research-based information for themselves and for the community at large. Although based in British Columbia, the DSRF, by using technology to reach out to the Community, has found an audience across Canada.

Epilepsy Canada 

Epilepsy Canada is the only national non-profit organization whose mission is to promote and support research into all aspects of epilepsy, and to create awareness and understanding about epilepsy through educational programs.

NSAMH provides services and programs to people with developmental disabilities on the North Shore.

Prevention Source BC

Prevention Source BC  is the provincial prevention resource centre which supports organizations and individuals in British Columbia involved in the prevention of substance misuse.

TASH is an international association of people with disabilities, their family members, other advocates, and professionals fighting for a society in which inclusion of all people in all aspects of society is the norm.

Tetra Society of North America

The purpose of Tetra is to recruit skilled volunteer engineers and technicians to create assistive devices for people with disabilities.

This unique program was developed in response to difficulties that people with disabilities experience in their search for greater independence and integration within their communities. The solutions are often simple but can change someone's life.

United Way of the Lower Mainland

United Way has a 70-year history of helping people in the Lower Mainland.  They began as a federated fundraiser - today United Way is a leader in the social services sector, providing resources, funding and expertise.

Western Society for Children

Western Society for Children is an agency of hope within British Columbia that enhances the lives of children with disabilities and their families. We assist parents to advocate for disability resources needed by their children. We also provide information about disabilities and offer direct services to children with disabilities in the areas of: adaptive/specialized equipment, medical resources, recreation, communication and learning, and emotional well-being. The Western Society for Children also maintains a resource library for parents, a website full of helpful information, and a semi-annual newsletter.

Western Institute for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (The) 

The Western Institute for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing exists to address the needs of deaf, deafened and hard of hearing individuals by providing products, services and programs that work towards ensuring accessibility to their environment which is equal to that of the hearing public.

North Shore Multicultural Society 

North Shore Multicultural Society is a non-profit community based organization serving newcomers, providing cross cultural understanding and equality for all people in North Shore.

North Shore 'Together Against Violence' Network

The Network's beginning goes back to 1992 with the North Shore's United Way Children and Youth Committee's desire to address youth violence. However, since the committee saw violence as a much more complex issue, the focus quickly moved to a broader perspective to include all forms of violence. The main goals became, and continue to be, to raise awareness around the issue of violence and to mobilize the community to take positive action.

North Shore Women's Centre

The North Shore Women's Centre's mission is to improve the social, economic and political status of women, and to encourage and support self empowerment by acting as a resource and a catalyst for change, from a Feminist perspective.

Just Singin' Round

Just Singin’ Round (JSR) is a community-based foundation that blends art with social responsibility. JSR builds integrated partnerships with local Vancouver charities to support cooperative programming and help sustain community programs. This is achieved by teaching collaborative partnership skills and by putting these skills to practice through monthly and annual events that showcase prominent West Coast artisans. JSR integrates music, dance, film, spoken word, art, food, and comradeship to celebrate the spirit of culture while strengthening the fabric of community. On the first Tuesday of every month at the Vancouver Rowing Club (Stanley Park) there is a musical showcase and dinner. Each month a different local charity receives the funds raised. The NSDRC has been a feature charity for 5 years.
