CARF Accreditation A Great Success

Thanks to enormous talent, very hard work and an outstanding team effort, the NSDRC has been successful in its second CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) Survey which was conducted from February 26th to the 28th of 2007. We obtained our first three-year accreditation certification from CARF in April 2004.

Accreditation is a peer review process done by an outside accrediting body such as CARF. Two or three CARF surveyors conduct an internal audit over two to three days to check an agency’s compliance with a set of standards in various areas – including business practices, health and safety, individualized service planning and various programs. The programs at the NSDRC that are currently accredited are the Community Based Services Program, the Infant Development Program and the Supported Living Program.

The final accreditation survey report will be available to anyone who is interested in receiving a copy and will also be posted on our website.  Thank you to everyone who was involved in assuring the success of this important project.  We greatly appreciate the demonstrated determination and commitment to ongoing quality assurance at the NSDRC.
