Brock Metcalf

Brock Metcalf was born June 8th, 1980 with Cerebral Palsy. He has lived in North Vancouver since birth. Brock has always enjoyed living an active life. Being a Scout from 1991 to 1998, helped him get an appetite for the outdoors. Since leaving scouts, Brock has been involved with many different sports ranging from adaptive skiing, sailing, and hiking. As an adventurous young man, Brock is willing to try anything once for an adventure. He graduated from Handsworth Secondary School in 2004. One of the more rewarding activities is volunteering with the Special Olympics.

Andrew Starovoytov

Andrew Starovoytov grew up and went to university in the Ukraine. After obtaining his medical degree, he worked as a doctor in Uganda for one year, then came to Canada with his wife in 2001. He is currently working in VGH as part of UBC's cardiology research team. He says, "Hiking has been a passion for me all my life so I fell in love with BC right from the start. I look forward to being a part of the Kilimanjaro team and meeting the challenge of making Brock's dream come true."

Jordan Kerton

Jordan Kerton is a 25-year-old lover of nature, adventure and the human spirit. She was born and raised in North Vancouver and is a recent graduate of the Recreation Therapy program at Douglas College. She has worked in the care industry for the past four years and currently works for BC Mobility Opportunities Society, coordinating the 'TrailRider' hiking program. Jordan says, "I look forward to climbing Mount Kilimanjaro with my team because I thrive on challenge and I believe in the abilities of all people and their right to live in and be a part of their community." She is inspired by the quote, "Success in any endeavour depends on the depths to which it is an expression of your true self."

Paul Blair

Paul Blair was born November 7th, 1980 in Vancouver. He grew up on the North Shore playing baseball, soccer, and hockey for North Vancouver Teams. He graduated from Handsworth Secondary School in 1998. He then went to the University of Arizona and graduated with a degree in communications in 2003. Paul has been good friends with Brock since meeting him at Highlands Elementary School in 1994. Paul and Brock have done such things as skiing, hiking, and attending camps together.

Luke Kerton

Luke Kerton is a 27-year-old nature lover, born and raised on the North Shore.  Luke graduated from Carson Graham Secondary with a love of a variety of team sports and outdoor activities.  This adventure seeker thrives on challenge and looks forward to taking on Kilimanjaro and experiencing a new culture with his team.  Luke caught the 'TrailRiding Bug' while volunteering for his sister's BCMOS hiking program, this past year.
